On May 13, 2024, the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (UCCRO) met with Minister for Ecclesiastical affairs, Rural districts and Nordic cooperation of the Kingdom of Denmark Morten Dahlin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen and their accompanying persons.

Representatives of the UCCRO thanked Minister Morten Dahlin for his visit and told the Danish delegation about the resistance of the Ukrainian people against Russian aggression, humanitarian challenges for the Ukrainian people and the role of churches during the war. Ukrainian religious leaders noted that during martial law in Ukraine, religious freedom is ensured, denominations have communication with the authorities and resolve emerging issues in a dialogue. Representatives of the Council of Churches informed the Danish delegation about the crimes of the Russian Federation in the religious sphere of Ukraine.

Minister Morten Dahlin assured the UCCRO representatives that Denmark fully supports Ukraine in the fight against Russian military aggression, and his visit is aimed to demonstrate this support. “Ukraine is fighting for its freedom, and this fight concerns the freedom of the whole Europe,” said Morten Dahlin.

The meeting was attended by the heads and authorized representatives of the Ukrainian Bible Society, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Union of Evangelical Christian Baptist Churches, Ukrainian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ukraine, Ukrainian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine, Religious Administration of Muslims of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and the Institute for Religious Freedom.
