On October 2, 2024, the Secretariat of the Council of Christian Churches of Ukraine met at the premises of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC. During the meeting, various socio-religious issues and the post-war restoration of Ukraine were discussed, and several events were planned for the remainder of the year.

The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the state of church-state relations in Ukraine and the social and humanitarian activities of churches and religious organizations. They also addressed current challenges in the context of martial law and mobilization activities in Ukraine. The Secretariat of the Council of Churches expressed its support for the position of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations on key issues in the dialogue with the authorities. 

Furthermore, the members of the Secretariat of the Council of Churches emphasized the importance of further developing partnerships between the Church and the state in Ukraine to avoid future threats. For this purpose, the Law of Ukraine On the Protection of the Constitutional Order in the Field of Activities of Religious Organizations was recently adopted.

Following the Appeal of the Council of Churches to the Ukrainian people and authorities on socio-economic issues of April 16, 2024, representatives of the churches decided to organize and hold a forum with the participation of the Council of Churches, the Business Ombudsman of Ukraine, representatives of Ukrainian business and government officials. 

The members of the Secretariat of the Council of Churches outlined further steps regarding the activities of the Education Commission and the interaction of churches and religious organizations with the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine. 

The meeting of the Secretariat of the Council of Churches was attended by authorized representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Church of Evangelical Christians, the All-Ukrainian Union of Associations of Evangelical Christians-Baptists, the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Christian Evangelical Church, the Ukrainian Evangelical Church, the Ukrainian Lutheran Church, and the Institute for Religious Freedom.
