On November 25, 2024, on a clear, sunny day, the Russian military launched drones at the village of Solonchaky (Kutsurubska community, Ochakiv district, Mykolaiv region) during the distribution of coal to the elderly to heat their homes in winter. As a result of the Russian shelling, six civilians were injured, including father and son Vladyslav and Artur Kucheryavenko - ministers of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who were actively involved in distributing humanitarian aid. Due to ongoing shelling by the Russian military, doctors were unable to deliver prompt medical assistance to the injured. The wounded were provided with the necessary medical care in the hospital; however, by the evening of November 25, Artur Kucheryavenko, an elder of the Adventist church in Mykolaiv, died of severe injuries.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression, dozens of ministers of various churches and religious organizations have been killed by the Russian military, and hundreds of churches and houses of worship have been either destroyed or damaged by shelling.
