“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord”.( Luke 2:10-11).
The Angel of the Lord spoke these words to people more than two thousand years ago, but they still bring us hope and faith.
These days, Ukrainians are going through difficult trials that can feel overwhelming. We face the pain of loss, violence, injustice, and chaos that is spreading across the world. At times, it may seem like darkness is prevailing, but even in the deepest darkness, the light of God's love shines through, providing us with hope and strength. Christ came into this world to be our Savior and Liberator!
Let us not allow difficult circumstances to weaken our faith. We know that everyone who puts their trust in God will not be ashamed. The Lord tells us: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Therefore, let us grow stronger in faith and unity, seeking strength in God rather than solely relying on our own abilities.
We have the example and testimony of brave heroes of the faith - prophets, apostles, and saints - who went through trials but remained steadfast, placing their trust in God and His power. In their most challenging moments, when hope seemed lost, God performed miracles, revealing His almighty hand that lifted people out of their deepest sorrow. And today, the Lord is with us, giving us the strength to withstand and win!
So, let us not lose hope and allow evil to weigh down our hearts. Now, more than ever, we need unity in faith, for it is faith in the Almighty God that is the source of our strength.
During this Christmas season, we pray for victory and protection of our soldiers. We also pray that all those who suffer will be comforted and that Ukraine will be restored and prosperous as a land of freedom, dignity, and peace.
We ask the Lord to grant Ukraine the light and grace to thrive spiritually and materially, to heal from its wounds, and to return to peace.
Wishing you and your families peace, harmony, and prosperity!
Christ is born! Let us praise Him!
