On 17 June 2026, the Council of Evangelical Protestant Churches of Ukraine (CEPCU) met with a delegation of the Polish Evangelical Alliance, which paid a solidarity visit to express its support for Ukrainian churches in the context of the Russo-Ukrainian war. The meeting took place at the Christian Life Center of the All-Ukrainian Union of the Churches of Evangelical Christians-Baptists (AUUCECB).

The meeting was co-chaired by Valerii Antoniuk, Chairman of the CEPCU and President of the AUUCECB, and Andrzej Niedzusiak, President of the Polish Evangelical Alliance and Bishop of the Church of God in Christ.
The parties discussed the current state of partnership between the evangelical churches of Ukraine and Poland, addressed contemporary aspects of Ukrainian-Polish relations, and explored opportunities for the religious community to further promote good-neighbourly relations between the Ukrainian and Polish peoples. Leaders of the Ukrainian evangelical churches expressed their gratitude to their Polish partners for supporting Ukrainian refugees since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression and for assisting in the registration and operation of Ukrainian religious communities in Poland.

Particular attention was devoted to strengthening and developing strategic partnerships among evangelical alliances across Central and Eastern Europe in response to shared challenges, including the war and its consequences, the demographic crisis, societal secularization, information threats, the protection of religious freedom, and the preservation and promotion of democratic values.
In the long term, cooperation between the CEPCU and the evangelical alliances of Poland, Romania, Hungary, and the Baltic states has the potential to become an integral component of a new model of regional religious diplomacy aimed at protecting human life, safeguarding religious freedom, strengthening democratic values, enhancing international support for Ukraine, and fostering a culture of responsible Christian leadership throughout Central and Eastern Europe.

It should be recalled that in September 2025, a delegation of the CEPCU met with representatives of the Polish Evangelical Alliance in Warsaw, Poland.
